From a young age Bonnie was fascinated with animals (especially birds because of their ability to fly.) At the age of 9 she discovered she could draw and this changed her world. She would spend hours in her room drawing pictures, mostly of birds, while other kids were happily playing or having tea parties. As she got older she started drawing pictures in coloured pencil of her extended family's beloved pets. Through this fusion of a love and fascination of animals and a passion for fine art, Ladybug Studio was born....but not immediately.

When it was time for Bonnie to leave the nest and attend college her career choice was graphic design and fine art was temporarily put on the back burner. She learned other mediums such as photography, acrylic painting and computer graphics. Embracing the challenge that graphic design had to offer, she followed this career path with gusto....but over the years, she felt something was missing from her life.

While continuing to freelancing as a graphic designer Bonnie started up Ladybug Studio...and embraced her passion again. The foundation of Ladybug Studio is painted animal portraits, however, she posts her personal projects as well and does commissioned paintings.
